If so, our Splash That Ink Writer’s Award is the perfect way to achieve both. For this award, any genre or theme of the poem, short story, long story, novel, essay any other form of writing is accepted. The Young Writers Club is open to young writers in grades four through eight. They are asked to write an essay about a person, place, or topic that was groundbreaking. In addition, students must research the subject and reference noteworthy ideas in their writing. They must write a convincing argument based on factual evidence.
